PT | Visita do Príncipe D. Luís Filipe a Ponte de Lima em 1901.
O Príncipe Real Dom Luís Filipe fez uma viagem de recreio ao norte do país, para conhecer os usos e costumes do seu povo.
A Câmara de Ponte de Lima, informada desta visita e de que o Príncipe passaria nesta vila a 8 de outubro, decidiu “receber festivamente e com as distinções que lhe são devidas, o Augusto Visitante…”, aproveitando para inaugurar e dar o nome do príncipe à nova avenida, que ainda estava em construção.
Com exposição de produtos da época, esta recriação vai realizar-se na Avenida dos Plátanos, artéria paralela ao rio Lima construída naqueles inícios do século XX e batizada então com o nome do Príncipe herdeiro.

EN | A historical reenactment of the visit of Prince Luís Filipe to Ponte de Lima in 1901.
The Royal Prince Luís Filipe made a recreational trip to the North of the country to discover the customs of his people.
The Town Council of Ponte de Lima was informed of the visit and that the Prince would pass through this town on October 8; thus, they decided to "receive him festively and with the distinction due to a prince, the ‘Visiting Augustan’ ...", taking advantage of the occasion to inaugurate and name the new avenue which was still under construction.
With an exhibition of products of the time, this reenactment will take place on the Avenue of the Sycamores, an artery parallel to the Lima River built in the early twentieth century and named after the Crown Prince.
