É com o novo álbum Star Treatment – desta feita com o selo Sargent House – em mãos, e já três anos volvidos após a assombrosa passagem pela edição de 2014 do Amplifest, que os Wovenhand estão de volta a Portugal; o reencontro faz-se em dose dupla, no Hard Club (Porto) e no RCA Club (Lisboa) a 4 e 5 de Maio, respectivamente. It is with unbridled intensity and honesty that David Eugene Edwards, Wovenhand’s mastermind for the last decade and a half, combines his music with his search for spiritual transcendence. In a constant journey that started from the alt-country and folk’s introspective landscapes (at the image of the 16 Horsepower, David Eugene’s former band) and also made way through the raw power of rock n ‘roll and other, even more abrasive, expressions – note Wovenhand’s addition to the roster of Deathwish Inc., owned by Jacob Bannon of Converge, for the release of Refractory Obdurate in 2014 –, Wovenhand celebrates in equal parts both light and darkness, redemption and damnation. Presenting the new album Star Treatment – released by Sargent House –, and three years after the astonishing show at Amplifest 2014, Wovenhand are finally set to return to Portugal; the shows will take place at Hard Club (Porto) and RCA Club (Lisbon) on May 4th and 5th, respectively. Um dos mais conceituados artistas do panorama experimental português, Felizardo explora as tonalidades da guitarra a partir da base do blues e da americana, apontando também referências a nomes como Neil Young ou John Fahey. Apresentará, entre outros, temas de Volume IV – The Invading Past And Other Dissolutions, o duplo LP lançado recentemente pela conceituada Three:four Records. On both dates, Wovenhand will be preceded by the strings of Filipe Felizardo’s guitar. One of the most renowned artists in the Portuguese experimental scene, Felizardo explores all of the tonalities in his guitar taking blues and americana music as starting points, while also referencing names like Neil Young or John Fahey. He will present, among others, songs from Volume IV – The Invading Past And Other Dissolutions, the double LP recently released by the renowned label Three: four Records.
