Workshop: Indian Joyful, Ecstatic Singing, Rythms & Dance

Our special guest Jyoshna La Trobe will give a very special workshop: " Indian Joyful, Ecstatic Singing, Rythms & Dance" on Sunday the 26th of February at “ Casa Ananda” close to our eco village www.anandakalyani.org
Bio: Dr La Trobe’s speciality is the music-culture of Rárh, north east India, and the first westerner to complete her PhD on Kīrtan and Ecstatic Performance in the Purulia District, West Bengal, India. Jyoshna is a composer, ethnographer and international workshop leader who has authored over 25 albums of original and ethnographic music.

Jyoshna will lead you in a workshop that covers the foundations of devotional singing, music and dance (kīrtan). We will focus on voice work, instrumentation, (including guitar chords, cymbals and kīrtan drum rhythms), styles of kīrtan, its history and composers as well as ecstatic ragas, that will deeply inspire and uplift you.

IMPORTANT: If you are musician even beginner please bring your own instrument!!!:)
