Nesta Feels Like Home, emprestamos casa a quem ficou injustiçadamente sem ela: recebemos Craig Richards, residente do lendário e recentemente encerrado Fabric, de Londres. Craig apostou naquilo que faz e que faz bem: pôr música. Como residente e programador do Fabric, tornou-se num DJ emblemático que se desafia semana após semana a continuar a prender o público e fazê-lo regressar ao mesmo sítio. Sem aventuras em estúdio nem editoras megalómanas (ao invés, tem a mui interessante Tuppence, especializada em vinil 7”), não há artifícios para utilizar e criar hype atrás de um nome. Há apenas dedicação, talento, e trabalho para construir uma carreira respeitada e um nome universalmente reconhecido por quem é minimamente atento. São milhares de noites, centenas de convidados, milhões de pessoas diferentes a passar pela pista de dança. Como chegar até cada uma delas? Como fazê-las dançar desalmadamente, como imprimir um cunho pessoal, como fazê-las sentir-se em casa? In this Feels Like Home night, we lend our home to someone who has been wrongly stripped of his: we welcome Craig Richards, resident DJ and programmer of the recently closed Fabric London. Craig put everything in what he does and does well: Djing. As Fabric’s resident and programmer, he became a sough-after DJ that challenges himself night after night in the craft of keeping his audience interested and making it return for yet another night. Without any studio output or giant labels to sit behind (he does however run the much interesting Tuppence, specializing in 7” vinyl), there’s no way to bullshit yourself through a career and to a place where your name elicits fond memories and excitement: you have to build it on sheer dedication, talent and work. Thousands of nights, hundreds of guests, millions of different people coming through your dancefloor. How do you get through to each of them? How do you make them dance their asses off in total abandon? How do you make them feel most at ease? How do you build just the perfect lineup to grab the right crowd’s attention in a city not lacking in parties? The answers are all with our guest.
