Geronyom é o nome artístico do músico compositor e percussionista português Ricardo Jerónimo Martins. Geronyom is the artistic name of the portuguese musician, composer and percussionist Ricardo Jerónimo Martins. Estudou na Escola Finlandesa de Artes, Snellman Korkeakoulu, em Helsínquia na Finlândia e é autodidata do instrumento musical mais recente do mundo, criado na Suiça, conhecido pelo nome Hang – Handpan, uma escultura sonora, melódica, metálica e percussiva que permite criar melodias, “beats”, “grooves” e sensações hipnóticas que estimulam o Cortex Frontal do ser humano criando bem-estar. He studied at the Finnish School of Arts, Snellman Korkeakoulu in Helsinki in Finland and he is self-taught of the latest musical instrument in the world , created in Switzerland , known by the name Hang – Handpan; it’s a melodic, metallic and percussive sound sculpture made by hand, where he creates ” beats”, ” grooves” and hypnotic sensations that stimulate the frontal cortex of the human being creating well being. Nos últimos 10 anos, a música é a sua vida. Estudou com diferentes grupos de música nativos no Brasil (Samba, Candomblé e Capoeira) e na Índia (tablas, flauta e mantras). Hang – Handpan é um instrumento musical raro e criado no ano 2001 na Suíça, e por essa razão não tem professores. Aliás, a escultura sonora Hang, foi criada por Felix Rohner e Sabina Schärer com objetivo de expressão e harmonização pessoal abrindo as portas a uma Nova Era Musical. In the past 10 years, he studied with different kind of native musical groups in Brazil (Samba, Candomblé and Capoeira) and India (tables, flute and mantras). Hang – Handpan, is such a rare musical instrument that there are no teachers. Actually, the sound sculpture Hang, was created by Felix Rohner and Sabina Schärer for personal healing allowing a New Musical Era. Geronyom esteve presente em diferentes festivais e concertos, quer nacionais, quer internacionais, assim como em eventos e projetos sociais, canais televisivos, destacando-se certas presenças, das quais, na Fnac Portugal onde apresentou o seu 1º CD – “Hang on Space”; na Casa das Artes de Famalicão; na 1ª Gala do Surf Awards em Portugal no Casino do Estoril. Internacionalmente, esteve na abertura do Festival de Moda Ecológica no Palácio de Geneva na Suíça e é figura de cartaz do “Festival de la Terre” em Lausagne na Suiça. Geronyom performed in different concerts and festivals in national and international places, as well as events and social projects , TV channels , highlighting certain presences, such as, Fnac Portugal to present the 1st CD release, “Hang on Space”; was also at Casa das Artes de Famalicão and at the 1st Surf Awards Gala in Portugal Casino Estoril . Internationally , it was the opening of the Eco-Fashion Festival in Geneva Palace in Switzerland and he is the poster figure of the ” Festival de la Terre “ in Lausagne – Switzerland. Hang – Handpan é uma escultura sonora que combina seis diferentes instrumentos musicais oriundos dos cinco continentes: Steel Drums de Trinidade & Tobago, Gamelan da Indonésia, Ghatam da Índia, Gongo da China, as Taças Tibetanas do Tibete e o Udu da África. Hang – Handpan it’s a sound sculpture that combines six different musical instruments arising from world’s five continents : Steel Drums of Trinidad & Tobago , Gamelan of Indonesia, Ghatam of India, China of Gong , Tibetan Singing Bowls of Tibet and the Udu of Africa.
