O concerto de abertura corresponde à estreia em Portugal Continental do argentino Dino Saluzzi, grande figura da música de fusão, onde se encontram as harmonias e ritmos do jazz com as da música tradicional e do tango com a música erudita. Uma sonoridade de nostalgia mestiça é evidente em todas as interpretações do músico, executante de bandoneon, instrumento semelhante a uma concertina, típico da Região do Rio de la Plata, no Uruguai e Argentina, e peça principal das orquestras de tango. Na arte de Salluzi, o instrumento tem a força de um fio condutor, através do qual se desenha uma música de caráter orquestral, onde pontuam a mais moderna improvisação e a ambiência sonora que também define as grandes composições do mestre argentino Astor Piazzola. Nascido no ano de 1935 em Campo Santo, província de Salta, na Argentina, Saluzzi integrou a orquestra da rádio nacional e desenvolveu as primeiras ligações com Gato Barbieri logo na década de 50 do séc. XX. Após um percurso de afirmação como músico, na década de 80, Dino Saluzzi inicia uma ligação com a editora ECM que tem dado frutos até à atualidade. O mais recente trabalho do autor com esta chancela data de 2014, intitula-se “El Valle de la Infancia” e foi gravado com a mesma formação que estará presente no Seixal, da qual também fazem parte o irmão e o filho do próprio compositor. Uma viagem ao tempo e à terra da infância, acentuada pelas ligações do sangue, da memória e da identidade. The opening concert corresponds to the debut in Continental Portugal of Argentinean Dino Saluzzi, well known character of fusion music, where the harmonies and rhythms of jazz meet the traditional music, the tango and the classical music. A mixed nostalgia of sound is evident in all interpretations of this musician, performer of bandoneon, instrument similar to a concertina, typical of the Rio de la Plata region, in Uruguay and Argentina, and the key role of the tango orchestras. In Salluzi's art, this instrument is the key element, through which it draws a music of orchestral character, where we can find the modern improvisation and ambience sound that also defines the great compositions of the Argentine master Astor Piazzolla.
