SwitchSt(d)ance convida Thomas Von Party [Multi Culti]

Que apelido maravilhoso. Escutem, ecoa.
Von Party é um rápido augúrio de festa na bandeira e linhagem que representa, tal como o irmão, Tiga, através da Turbo Recordings: editora destemida, rebelde,na qual encabeçou a angariação de ‘hit-making releases’, podcasts e remisturas soltas à rua uma atrás da outra, assinadas por artistas de peso na nouvelle electrónica do começo da década e até hoje, como Azari & III, Gesaffeltein, Popof, Duke Dumont... e ele próprio, DJ não pelo berço, mas de pleno direito, desde 2006.

Dez anos passados, Von Party é maduro, camaleónico no gosto que reparte pela música electrónica contemporânea, feita de muitas mais misturas e inclusões rítmicas do que de restrição de géneros e formas. Então, talvez por isso ele hoje represente um ‘muito bom em um’: a visão de uma pista ao pôr do sol em Goa, o sorriso na cara de um bom after, a dança quente e oriental que é ponte entre culturas, e o mergulho profundo em escalas psicadélicas de deixar render os braços, até ele querer.

Foi neste registo alternativo, entre manifestos exóticos, drum beats batidos e electrónica profunda, que alimentou a bom pulso a sua mais recente Multi Culti. Label e duo de inspiração multicultural, em custódia partilhada com o australiano Angus Gruzman ‘aka' Dreems, com quem continuar fazer a festa como ninguém - orgulhosamente justapondo à editora talentos como Auntie Flo, os Red Axes ou Jagwar Ma.
Von Party ecoa bem, sim. E é disso que nos vamos lembrar.

What a wonderful name. Listen, it echoes.
Von Party is pretty much a party omen, (still) reflecting the same lineage as his brother, Tiga, through his Turbo Recordings’ trace: a fearless label for which he stood as A&R, raising 'hit making releases', podcasts and powerful remixes one after the other - signed by heavy weight artists from the nouvelle decade, such as Azari & III, Gesaffeltein, Popof, Duke Dumont ... and himself, DJ by his very own right since 2006 .

Ten years later, Von Party is a true chameleon considering the contemporary electronic music realm: his taste is made of many blends and rhythmic inclusions, middle eastern mainly, leaving no room for genre restrictions and forms. So maybe that’s why today he represents a delightful “all in one” in his DJ sets and appearances, somehow combining the sense of a perfect sunset in Goa, with that silly smile you keep from an after party, and making you take a deep dive into psychedelics scales that have that multicultural twist you must surrender to.

So, in this alternative spectrum, he has been fuelling his Multi Culti label and duo, through exotic melodies, drum beats and deep electronics. All done in shared custody with Angus Gruzman 'aka' Dreems, with whom he keeps partying as hell, and proudly teaming up with talents such as Auntie Flo, Red Axes or Jagwar Ma as label signees.
So, yes. Von Party echoes to us very well. And that's what we'll remember.
