BICEP A Internet tem destas coisas. Andy Ferguson e Matt McBriar são o duo irlandês que achou que as pérolas obscuras que iam acumulando com os seus anos de busca e DJing mereciam um lugar ao sol. House, Disco, Techno, gravações inusitadas, tudo iam devorando, coleccionando, misturando, re-editando e finalmente dando a conhecer através de um blog – Feel My Bicep. A partilha desinteressada como rainha deu frutos maiores quando se mudaram para Londres. Com mais datas para mostrarem ao vivo o que sabiam, e com o blog a crescer e a ganhar seguidores (e convidados!) ilustres, o nome Bicep tornou-se sinónimo de qualidade. Os primeiros discos em nome próprio e uma ajudinha de Tim Sweeney, fã assumido, ajudaram a catapulta-los para o estrelato. Os dois assumem uma atitude “no bullshit”, sem motivos ocultos, favores a amigos, máquina de imprensa por trás. São o que são, dois tipos que adoram fazer e tocar música, seja ela em que formato for, ou como for feita. Não há lugar a fundamentalismos, portanto. Até porque, dizem, com um nome como o deles, podem literalmente tocar o que quiserem e provavelmente vão ser aceites. Residências no XOYO, aparições em festivais, idas a Ibiza e uma agenda cheia no geral comprovam isso mesmo. Adivinham-se sorrisos e suor – acontece a todos os que dançam, garantimos - numa noite que constrói o futuro com retalhos um pouco de todo o lado. Andy Ferguson and Matt McBrian are the Irish duo that thought their years of digging and DJing warranted a place to be shared with the world. House, Disco, Techno, weird recordings, they were devouring everything, collecting, mixing, re-editing and finally sharing it all with the world through a blog – Feel My Bicep. This selfless contribution finally turned into something bigger when they relocated to London. With more bookings, and with the blog growing and gaining more (and more illustrious!), followers and guests, the name Bicep became synonymous with quality. Their first self-produced records and a little help from Tim Sweeney, a fan of theirs, helped them climb to stardom. The pair assumes a “no bullshit” attitude, with no hidden motives, favours to mates or a PR machine to back them up. They are what they are, two guys who love to make and play music, in whatever format it comes and however it is made. Thinking that with a name like the one they picked they could play anything and be accepted, they were right - a XOYO residency, festival dates, regular Ibiza bookings and a generally full schedule stand as evidence.
