Nesta véspera de feriado, Rui Vargas convida Lil' Tony do clube finlandês Kaiku. De um residente para outro. Venham conhecê-lo. Ele desmultiplica-se: é residente no Kaiku, clube-chave da capital, mexeu-se pela rádio, coordena o festival Flow. Em estúdio, já se fez mostrar em selos invejáveis como a Running Back ou a Innervisions. Faz acontecer. E o mundo precisa de quem faz acontecer, de devotos, de gente cheia de vontade. Uma vontade que tão bem passa para a música que Lil’ Tony traz até nós, uma selecção de House cru e de prender a atenção, divertido, sem precisar de artifícios a mais senão um beat certeiro no seu âmago. São lufadas de ar fresco a mostrar a diversidade de todo um género e a sua propensão natural a pôr-nos a mexer: para dentro da pista, está claro! Não é uma estreia aqui em Santa Apolónia, mas parece ser mais um segredo bem guardado para os portugueses – o resto do mundo, no entanto, já está bem atento, com passagens por um “quem é quem” dos clubes mundiais, desde o Panorama Bar até ao Rex Club. Temos vindo a alertar para estes “best kept secrets”, e o alerta faz-se de novo. Não se admirem quando acabarem a noite a desejar por mais uma, duas, vinte horas de dança. It’s a hard task, and Lil’ Tony is up the job. Tony Rantanen has been getting himself into mischief since the 90s. He was part of Nu Spirit Helsinki and Future Beat Investigators and, more recently, has been agitating the Finnish scene solo. A resident at Kaiku, a key-club in the capital city, he’s kept a radioshow and also runs Flow Festival. His studio works have found their way into admirable labels such as Innervisions and Running Back. He makes things happen. And the world needs people who make things happen, it needs devouts, it needs people full of drive. A drive that so well seeps into the music Lil’ Tony brings us, a selection of raw House that easily catches our attention, fun, needing no more artifices than a righteous beat at its core. True breaths of fresh air showcasing the genre’s diversity and natural tendency to get us moving: to inside the dancefloor, of course. It’s not his debut here at Lux, but he seems to be a secret well kept from Portuguese audiences – not so much across the world, as he’s been doing the rounds at a “who’s who” of worldwide clubs such as Panorama Bar or Rex Club.
