A banda começa em 2009 por ser um quarteto feminino. Lançam dois EP – "Winter Severity Index" (2010) e "Survival Rate" (2013) – que rapidamente esgotaram. As excelentes críticas que receberam levam a banda a atuar um pouco por toda a Europa, incluindo Portugal. Em 2012, a banda reduz-se a dois elementos sendo atualmente constituída pela sua fundadora Simona Ferrucci (voz, guitarrra, baixo, programação e arranjos) e Alessandra Romeo (sintetizadores e teclados). O álbum de estreia “Slanting Ray” vê a luz do dia em abril de 2014. Tudo se conjuga de forma perfeita: o ritmo frio e vintage da batida, combinado com a melancolia líquida da guitarra de Simona, a sua voz sentida e letras penetrantes, a sonoridade etérea e envolvente do sintetizador de Alessandra. A expectativa é grande no seu regresso a Lisboa onde o new wave mostra o seu lado feminino. HAPAX Hapax, outra banda italiana, de Nápoles, é um projeto postpunk synth wave que combina a sonoridade dark wave dos anos 80 com arranjos experimentais/ industriais. Deste duo formado em 2014 fazem parte Michele Mozzillo (voz, baixo, sintetizadores) e Diego Cardone (guitarra, sintetizadores e programação). O álbum de estreia lançado em dezembro do mesmo ano – “Stream of consciousness” – é inspirado na narrativa utilizada por alguns escritores do início do século XX, que ilustra a multitude de pensamentos e sentimentos que fluem pela mente antes de serem logicamente organizados em frases. As letras pela voz calma e melancólica de Michelle levam-nos a uma dramática e exaustiva introspeção da alma humana. Uma muito aguardada estreia em Portugal, em Lisboa pela mão d’A Comissão. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Winter Severity Index Winter Severity Index is a musical project from Rome, Italy, that goes from post-punk to new wave, with a dark wave ethereal sound. The excellent reviews take the band a little bit all over Europe, including Portugal. In 2012, the band is reduced to two members and currently consists of its founder Simona Ferrucci (vocals, guitar, bass, programming and arrangements) and Alessandra Romeo (synths and keyboards). Everything comes together perfectly: the cold and vintage rhythm combined with the liquid melancholy of Simona’s guitar, her heart-felt voice and penetrating lyrics, the ethereal and engaging synths of Alessandra. The expectations are high in their return to Lisbon where the new wave shows its feminine side. Hapax Hapax, another Italian band from Naples, is a postpunk synth wave project that combines the dark wave sound from the 80s with experimental/ industrial arrangements. This duo formed in 2014 consists of Michele Mozzillo (vocals, bass, synths) and Diego Cardone (guitar, synths and programming). Their début album – “Stream of consciousness” – is released that same year, in December, and is inspired by the narrative used by some early 20th century writers, which depicts the multitude of thoughts and feelings flowing through the mind before they can logically be organized in sentences. The lyrics sung by Michelle’s calm and melancholic voice take us to a dramatic and exhaustive introspection of the human soul.
