Hennix) é uma compositora, filósofa, cientista, matemática e artista visual sueco-americana associada à música minimal. Para a sua apresentação em Serralves, C.C. Hennix propõe a criação dum ambiente sonoro composto com o seu recém-criado instrumento virtual, o tamburium. Simultaneamente, acontecerá a estreia mundial da sua nova composição “Raag Surah Shruti” para voz e tamburium, com textos de Ayshe al-Bauniyah e a participação de Ahmet Muhsin Tüzer, o famoso e controverso Imã de uma pequena mesquita no sul da Turquia que é, simultaneamente o vocalista de uma banda rock (a história de vida de Tüzer já foi tema de um livro do escritor Selçuk Alkan: "Rock’n Imam: An Unusual Life"). Christer Hennix conheceu o pioneiro do minimalismo americano La Monte Young e o mestre de ragas hindu Pandit Pran Nath em 1970 e estudou com ambos durante essa década tendo, inclusivamente, participado no desenvolvimento dos aspetos teóricos da música de Young. “The Electric Harpsichord” de Hennix é talvez uma das mais obscuras obras-primas do minimalismo americano, apresentada ao vivo e gravada no Moderna Museet de Estocolmo em 1976, e reeditada recentemente com poemas de Young e um ensaio do conhecido artista e filósofo Henry Flynt. Depois de ter dedicou as décadas de 1980 e 1990 à matemática e ciências de computação, em 2003, Hennix retomou a composição com base em ondas sonoras geradas por computador numa forma que ela designa por Soliton(e)s. A estreia mundial da animação e composição infinita “Soliton(E) Star” foi realizada em Nova Iorque para a celebração do 70º aniversário de La Monte Young. Em anos recentes, muitos artistas têm descoberto o trabalho de Hennix e decido estudar e trabalhar com esta artista pioneira. In Serralves, Hennix will create a sound environment composed with her newly created virtual instrument, the tamburium. Simultaneously, she proposes the world premiere of her new composition "Raag Surah Shruti" for voice and tamburium with text by Ayshe al-Bauniyah and with the participation of Ahmet Muhsin Tüzer, the famous and controversial Imam of a small mosque in southern Turkey who is also the lead singer of a rock band (Tüzer’s life has been the subject of Alkan Selçuk’s book "Rock'n Imam: An Unusual Life"). Christer Hennix met the pioneer of American minimalism La Monte Young and the Hindu master of the ragas Pandit Pran Nath in 1970. She studied with both during the following decade and participated in the development of the theoretical aspects of Young's music. Hennix’s piece "The Electric Harpsichord" is perhaps one of the more obscure masterpieces of American minimalism, performed live and recorded at the Moderna Museet in Stockholm in 1976 and reissued recently in an edition featuring poems by Young and an essay by the well-known artist and philosopher Henry Flynt. After having devoted most of the 1980s and 1990s to mathematics and computer sciences, in 2003, Hennix resumed composition based on computer generated sound waves in the form of what she calls Soliton(e)s. The world premiere of the animation and infinite composition "Soliton(E) Star" was held in New York to celebrate the 70th anniversary of La Monte Young. In recent years, many artists have discovered the work of Hennix and decided to study and join the theories and practices of this pioneering artist.
