MANO LE TOUGH

MANO LE TOUGH

\\ english version //

Little by little, unhurriedly and without rushing, Mano Le Tough came into our lives to never again leave – and we definitely can’t be without his music anymore.
In the beginning, most of the general audiences’ buzz around him came from a handful of remixes. His work on reconfiguring Roisín Murphy’s “Simulation” was a turning point, putting the Irishman’s work right into even less attentive ears. If, before, demanding DJs would follow his outings carefully, after that remix it was hard to find clubbers who weren’t excited about this artists that titles himself as Tough, but who in reality finds his peace in the mountains (to where he has recently relocated, from Berlin to Switzerland) and declares himself as a romantic. And if in music there are sometimes unexplained popularity phenomena, Mano certainly isn’t one of them – because when you have Âme & Dixon proclaiming you as the hope for the future of House, well, then you have something truly special to share with the world. His latest album, “Trails”, just out on Permanent Vacation, sounds like a broad venture into the trails of his own mind, exploring what he himself has called House-folk before and that reveals a lot of what he does in the DJ booth, as well. This return to Lux, of he who already is obligatory in the list of those who we want to have with us again and again, starts 2016 with the opportunity to listen to one of today’s most relevant DJs when we think of House which massages your brain as well as releasing you furiously into dance. Music that sounds complete, where each and every record shines on a territory where melodies, voices, futuristic pulsing synths, spartan percussion and hypnotic beats all come together resulting in the sensation of being part of something that feels eternal, a part of the evocation of dance as something transcendent and which has, throughout the times, captivated us as human beings. Colourful and strong breaks in this January’s grey weather. Life, with Mano Le Tough.
