"The Thin Line" by Colectivo

Colectivo é um grupo de fotógrafos que se dedica à fotografia documental e integra os autores António Pedrosa, Miguel Proença, Lara Jacinto e Tommaso Rada.
A fronteira entre Portugal e Espanha existe desde 1143, sendo uma das mais antigas da Europa, todavia, com o Acordo de Shengen, as fronteiras entre os países signatários desaparece-ram, estabelecendo a livre circulação dentro do território europeu. Com o diluir das fronteiras políticas, os limites que estas representam ainda persistem, numa encruzilhada onde território e  as comunidade(s) se moldam reciprocamente, em torno de um espaço — físico, simbólico e humano — marcado por ambiguidades e contradições.

Os Encontros da Imagem inserem-se, do ponto de vista geográfico, numa região das mais jovens da Europa e próximo da Galiza o que lhe confere a potencialidade de uma vasta audiência com todos os benefícios daí resultantes. Sublinhe-se, nesta edição o reforço da parceria com o Festival “Outono Fotográfico”, festival galego de fotografia que nesta edição apresenta os projetos dos autores Berto Macei e José Romay, vencedores da II edição do Prémio Galiza de Foto-grafia Contemporânea.

"The Thin Line" by Colectivo

O Colectivo is a group of photographers dedicated to documentary photography that integrates the authors António Pedrosa, Miguel Proença, Lara Jacinto e Tommaso Rada.
The border between Portugal and Spain has been around since 1143, being one of the oldest in Europe. With the Schengen Agreement (1995), the borders between the signatory countries dis-appeared, establishing the free movement of persons within Europe! Meanwhile, with the fading of political boundaries, the limits that borders mean (or not) continue to remain at a crossroad where territory and the communities are molded reciprocally around a specific space - physical, symbolic and human - marked by ambiguity and contradictions that constitute the essence of the ends!

Encontros da Imagem is geographically involved in a region, which is considered to have the youngest population in Europe and is close to Galicia, a fact that offers a great potential in terms of a wider audience, along with all its consequent advantages. Due to that proximity, it must be noted the partnership with the Festival “Outono Fotográfico”, a Galician photography festival happening in Orense, that in this editions presents the works of Berto Macei and José Romay’s, both winners of the 2nd Edition of the Galician Contemporary Photography Award.
