Talvez a primeira “cidade dos motores” que vem à ideia dos fãs de música de dança seja Detroit, mas foi Estugarda que inspirou o nome artístico de Danilo Plessow, uma das melhores exportações alemãs do século XXI.
Danilo, ou Motor City Drum Ensemble, já não se livra do estatuto de DJ e produtor de culto, sinónimo de House Music com alma e de coração, condutor de noites irreverentes, adicto à procura de música, apaixonado do vinil. “Raw Cuts” é o nome da série de singles editados em nome próprio e na sua própria MCDE, e foi com Raw Cuts que conquistou a atenção e a admiração geral – tal como o nome sugere, são pedaços crus, trabalhando a arte do sampling e do reaproveitamento, colocando o “Deep” em “Deep House”, um termo tão mal usado mas que tem em Danilo uma das suas verdadeiras maiores figuras contemporâneas.
Remisturador de outros personagens­chave como Midland, Caribou ou DJ Sprinkles, e muitas vezes comparado a Theo Parrish ou Kyle Hall na busca da autenticidade, Motor City Drum Ensemble arrisca e vence, noite após noite. Uma viagem até bem ao centro das entranhas do som que nos faz dançar, nota a nota.

Perhaps the first “motor city” that comes to the mind of dance music fans is Detroit, but it was Stuttgart that inspired Danilo Plessow’s ­ one of Germany’s finest 21 exports ­artistic name.
Danilo, or Motor City Drum Ensemble, can’t get rid of the cult DJ and producer status, synonymous with soul­filled House Music, conductor of irreverent nights, music addict and vinyl lover. “Raw Cuts” is the name of the series of singles he released on his own MCDE label, and it was with “Raw Cuts” that he conquered mostly everyone’s attention and admiration – just like it says on the tin, they’re slabs of raw compositions relying on sampling and recycling, putting the “Deep” in “Deep House”, a term often misused but which has in Danilo one of its true biggest contemporary figures.
Remixer of other key­characters such as Midland, Caribou or DJ Sprinkles, and often times compared to Theo Parrish or Kyle Hall when it comes to their search for authenticity, Motor City Drum Ensemble takes chances and wins, night after night.
