FEMME Sessions #71 | Maus Hábitos

PT_  No âmbito da rúbrica Cinema à Mesa, as Femme Sessions exibem, nas últimas quartas-feiras de cada mês, cinema feito por mulheres!
Dia 29 de Novembro, em parceria com o CineEco, apresentamos dois filmes que compõem a seleção oficial da última edição do Festival, que aconteceu de 5 a 13 de Outubro de 2023. 
O CineEco – Festival Internacional de Cinema Ambiental da Serra da Estrela, é o único festival de cinema em Portugal, dedicado á temática ambiental, no seu sentido mais abrangente, que se realiza em Seia, anualmente em Outubro e de forma ininterrupta, desde 1995, por iniciativa do Município de Seia. Tem como abrangência a temática ambiental, na sua conceção mais vasta, entre o meio envolvente, ecossistemas e biomas. O Festival tem, ainda, como objetivo promover e valorizar a ecologia e as boas-práticas, através do cinema e documentário nacional e internacional. 
Esta é uma sessão especial sobre regeneração da natureza e resistência na América Latina que dialoga com o novo projeto do programa de Eramus + da XX Element Project, “Ecofeminism: Work towards an equal and green youth”.
É um convite para a reflexão, o diálogo e a ação. No fim dos filmes, a conversa segue com a participação das ecofeministas Bruna Galani e Luísa Barateiro, moderada por Rita Capucho.

Sinopse: 
Uma jovem Huichol não consegue encontrar alimentos e peiote para a sua comunidade; as empresas mineiras poluíram a água, envenenando as plantas e os animais.
Sem outra opção, os habitantes da comunidade a que a jovem pertence decidiram abandonar a sua terra.
A avó da jovem incumbe-a de plantar as últimas sementes de peiote, mas ela terá de decidir entre plantá-las ou deixar a comunidade.

DOIS RIOS

Sinopse: 
Betty Vásquez Rivera vive numa comunidade nas Honduras que foi afetada pelos furacões Eta e Iota; juntamente com outras mulheres, organizam-se para resistir aos projetos extrativos nas suas terras. 
María Cal, uma defensora da terra pertencente ao grupo étnico maia Q’eqchi, faz parte do movimento “La Resistencia”, organizado por várias famílias que se opõem a uma central hidroelétrica que bloqueou os rios nas suas comunidades. 
Betty vive nas Honduras, María na Guatemala. Sem se conhecerem, uma causa une-as: a defesa dos rios nos seus territórios.

EN_  Under the heading Cinema at the table, the Femme Sessions screen, on the last Wednesday of each month, cinema made by women! 
On November 29th, in partnership with CineEco, we presented two films that make up the official selection for the last edition of the Festival, which took place from October 5th to 13th, 2023.
The CineEco – Serra da Estrela International Environmental Film Festival, is the only film festival in Portugal, totally dedicated to environmental issues, in its widest sense. Takes place in Seia, annually in October, and continuously since 1995, by the initiative of Municipality of Seia. It covers the environmental theme, in its broadest conception, between the surrounding environment, ecosystems and biomes. The Festival also aims to promote and value ecology and good practices, through national and international cinema and documentaries. 
This is a special session on nature regeneration and resistance in Latin America that dialogues with the new project of the XX Element Project's Eramus + program, “Ecofeminism: Work towards an equal and green youth”. 
It is an invitation to reflection, dialogue and action. At the end of the films, the conversation continues with the participation of ecofeminists Bruna Galani and Luísa Barateiro, moderated by Rita Capucho.

Synopsis: 
A young Huichol woman cannot find food and peyote for her community; mining companies have polluted the water, poisoning plants and animals.
Having no other choice, the inhabitants of her community have decided to leave her land. 
Her grandmother entrusts her with planting the last remaining peyote seeds, but she will have to decide between planting them or leaving the community.

TWO RIVERS

Synopsis: 
Betty Vásquez Rivera, lives in a community in Honduras that was affected by hurricanes Eta and Iota, together with other women, they organize to resist the extractive projects un their territory. 
María Caal, a Mayan Q’eqchi’ land defender, is part of “La Resistencia” where several families oppose a hydroelectric plant that has blocked the rivers in their communities.
Betty lives in Honduras, María in Guatemala, without knowing each other, one clarity unites them: the defense of the rivers in her territories.
