SYNOPSIS - THE ANTI-CRISIS EXTREME MUSIC FESTIVAL!
 
Born in 2010, Santa Maria Summer Fest (SMSF) has since proven to be one of the main festivals in the extreme music scene in Portugal. Located on the city of Beja, in the heart of the Baixo Alentejo, the festival has the objective to spread the heaviest of music in this vast region. From 4 bands on its first edition, to 37 on its fifth, SMSF has shown a very positive growth through these years, and that is thanks to its characteristics of being the anti-crisis festival; on its first 4 editions the entrance was free, and names like DOOM [UK], CORPUS CHRISTII [PT], MATA RATOS [PT] and HEAVENWOOD [PT] were present, among others. The 2014 edition was the first one that had paid entrance, with its 3-day pass costing only €10, the entrance was put due to the need of making an upgrade to the festival's line-up as well as its logistics. This last edition had names such as EXTREME NOISE TERROR [UK], FILII NIGRANTIUM INFERNALIUM [PT] and ROMPEPROP [NL], and was positively acclaimed by the press. In 2015 SMSF will be back with a promising line-up, and we will continue being the true anti-crisis festival!
