O LEFFEST convida os espectadores a revisitar a história das comunidades Rom na Europa através de cinco debates, apenas possíveis porque estamos finalmente a construir, na nossa época, uma consciência coletiva da história esquecida dos ciganos. No ciclo de debates programado para a Celebração da Cultura Rom, procuraremos compreender a actual situação dos ciganos na sociedade e pensar sobre os acontecimentos e conflitos que marcaram a história do povo Romani. 🔹SER ARTISTA, MULHER E ROM 18 de Novembro às 21h no Cinema Nimas, após a exibição de três filmes realizados por três mulheres Rom provenientes de diferentes países. A desigualdade que as mulheres continuam a enfrentar na nossa sociedade é um tema que, gradualmente, vai ocupando terreno no debate e na agenda política. Porventura só uma abordagem interseccional nos permite analisar o modo como o sistema sexista e a discriminação social contra a comunidade Rom se relacionam na opressão destas mulheres. No sentido de promover a reflexão sobre esta dupla opressão tantas vezes negligenciada, o LEFFEST organiza uma sessão especial que conta com a exibição de "The Romany Mirror" e "The Country Doctor", de Katariina Lillqvist; "Io, La Mia Famiglia Rom E Woody Allen", de Laura Halilovic; e ainda "Cães Que Ladram Aos Pássaros", de Leonor Teles. In these debates, we will try to understand the current condition of Roma people in society and think about the events and conflicts that have marked their history. 🔹TO BE AN ARTIST, A WOMAN AND ROM November 18th, 21h00 at Espaço Nimas, after the screening of three films directed by three Rom women from different countries. The inequalities and obstacles women still face in our society is a theme that is gradually making its way into the political agenda and public debate. Therefore, an intersectional approach might help us analyze the way in which sexist systems and social discrimination against Roma people find common ground in the oppression of Roma women.
