"The Spirit Moves" it's a documentary that traces the evolution of African American dance in urban America. It was recorded and created over a period of thirty years by Mura Dehn, who recognized the vital contribution of African American dance to the Jazz scene and thus, to the global cultural heritage.
In this class we will explore the movements, the aesthetic principles and the styling of the part that is dedicated to Blues dancing!!!
We will apply these elements to our own dancing, we will explore different ways of moving from the documentary, and we will take a step further, finding through playfulness, interpretation and styling our own voice in the dance.
