Join us for a creative workshop in symmetrical painting where you’ll be trying out different techniques to create beautiful shapes and patterns. It’s a chance to unleash your inner child, get creative and meet new friends Remember those painting exercises you did as a kid by folding a painting to mirror it on the other side of the paper? We’re going to be taking this to the next level using inks that flow across the paper to create amazing patterns. Don’t worry if you aren’t experienced with drawing/painting, the goal of our events is always to exercise your creative brain through rapid, collaborative exercises. You will learn to release yourself from the end result and just enjoy the process. Some of the activities will include: - Collaborative abstract mirror paintings where we’ll swap the painting to another person between each fold. - Intentional mirror paintings where we’ll see how the technique can work for symmetrical subjects like butterflies or leaves. - We’ll even do a fun ‘Rorschach’ test on our paintings to see how different people interpret the same image It’s a two hour session with a max group size of 12, and all materials will be provided. You’re also welcome to stay for a drink after to chat about what you learned.
