multiVERSES 00
Poetry and Video

The interdimensional craft had a serious engine trouble and some of the occupants landed in Prisma Estúdio. They have been wandering between multiple universes, including Uqbar, Neverland and Twin Peaks. But for the first time in 100 years, they got in Lisbon (and never felt so lost). Now we are trying to help them go back to the journey. They say the engine is powered by Poetry and Video, so they asked us to make a multiVERSES night.

Miguel Antunes - Poet
Miguel Antunes is a young writer with an old soul.
His poems are unique, inspired by the source that connects the human spirit. A storyteller, a pathfinder that leads you on a ride through insanity and sanity of human behaviors. He's the co-founder of Lispoetas, a poetry event that happened in a traditional Portuguese tavern. He's now the curator of Palavras EmContraste, a poetic evening happening every Sunday at Espaço Espelho d'Água. Miguel has been active in developing the arts scene in Lisbon and participating in different events around the capital. His performances have an enigmatic power, more than a poet, he is an artist who loves the Blues, joining both worlds, Poetry, and Blues. His passion took him to open mic stages in Manchester, Paris, and Berlin, where he had the chance to play along with other musicians. Last year he competed in a contest by the singer, songwriter, musician Amanda Palmer. His poetry was read by Amanda and her husband Neil Gaiman. Both cherished his words. He was invited to create a video for a Brazilian school to help kids under five years old understand the meaning of poetry. A poet who dreams about being a guide in this strange labyrinth that is life.

João Meirinhos - Visuals
Adopting multiple personas (insider / outsider / artist / performer / ethnographer) as to validate my understanding of things, I intuitively use photography, text and film as a way to engage in diverse and often uncomfortable situations, attempting to depict settings from habitually disregarded angles in order to identify and reveal the often unconscious procedures from which political, social and spatial structures emerge. I tell audiovisual tales that stem from my avid interest towards discordant/conflitual interactions between peoples and places: How social phenomena inextricably embed themselves into inhabited landscapes? And how environments archive endemic human behaviors, beliefs and representational systems? How are we perceived by others and how others perceive themselves?

Lígia Reyes - Host
At 30th of August of 1990 a fire settled in the mountains of Serra da Estrela. We could see the flames from the window of the room where Lígia Reyes was born. It was under the sign of fire that she developed her poetic and aesthetic sensibility. Between the creation and the destruction of her work there's a fine line. Some of the rescued texts were published in literary magazines (“A Sul de Nenhum Norte”, “Apócrifa – PLEC 8”, "TLON - Revista Literária Independente 5", "PULSAR", "O meu Útero é Uma Bomba" and in the turkish “Türkiye Dil ve Edebiyat Derneği”). Her first poetry book "Amor Peixe e Outras Loucuras" (Editora Urutau) was published in 2019. She was also invited to show her work at: International Young Writers Meeting (Turkey), Feira do Livro do Porto, Festival Literário de Óbidos 2019, Libraria Paz na Galiza (Spain), Associação Cultural Valsa, International Poetry Night @Anjos70, "Ginginha Poética nas Galegas", Maria da Mouraria - Casa de Fados and Associação Bota in Lisbon.
